Having Trouble Sleeping?
A few sleepless nights are usually nothing to worry about, but it can become an issue if a lack of sleep starts to affect your daily life.
If you need support, there are a range of options open to you. For example, the NHS Better Health sleep pages offer advice, and locally we can also offer Talking Therapies and the Sleepio programme.
Sleepio is a leading tool, backed by international research and recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), that is clinically proven to help improve insomnia. Frimley Health and Care is currently offering it to our residents free of charge.
If you have a home postcode in the areas of Aldershot, Ascot, Ash, Bagshot, Bracknell, Camberley, Farnborough, Farnham, Fleet, Maidenhead, Slough, Windsor or Yateley, you will be able to use Sleepio by entering the first part of your postcode during the registration process.
Once registered, you will receive access to an online, fully automated, six-session programme of digital Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for insomnia. The advice given in your Sleepio sessions will be personalised to you, based on the answers you give when registering. In addition to the 20-minute sessions – completed at a time to suit you over a 12-month period - you will also need to keep a sleep diary, which takes about one minute to complete each day. Additional support is available from an online community of other Sleepio users, if this is something you want to join.
Using Sleepio is your decision - if you choose to sign up but don’t find it helpful, you can stop at any time, however, of the 1000+ people already signed up across Frimley, 62% starting session three have already reported clinical improvements in their sleep.
